Wind and Solar energy helped keeping the Air cleaner in the EU this summer

Let’s see things the other way around. 

Opponents to wind and solar energy say that they are not reliable because wind and light are not stable. Ok.

But look at it from the other perspective. The huge heatwave that baked Europe this summer caused nuclear and hydropower energy to drop by 70% and 62% respectively. Without wind and solar installed, that energy would have had to be replaced by fossil fuels only, pouring huge amounts of CO2 and Air Pollution in the atmosphere.

Instead, Wind and Solar helped keeping fossil fuels needs much lower. Who would have thought it?

Remember, heatwaves and droughts are here to stay. We are only at +1,2C, imagine what will be at +1,5C, which we are going to reach in a few years. And at +2C? or +3C?

Wind and Solar might be intermittent as fossil fuels lobbyists keep on reminding us, but they are working! And the more we install, combined with energy storage, the more the intermittent issue will not be an issue anymore.

Please consider installing solar panels and heat pumps in your home. That’s even better than having wind farms installed.
