Temperature Changes in Greece since 1901

These next days we will have 40 degrees in Greece.

Have a look at the above colored chart to see how Greece has warmed up since 1901.

Hot is the new normal… It’s getting hotter and hotter like in the rest of the world, and with more frequent hot spells.

And unfortunately hotter means also worse Air Quality, because most often the heat wave brings along a lot of Saharan dust like during these days.

In Athens, but also in the rest of the country, PM2,5 is 20-30μg/m3 these days, which is two to three times the safety level set up by the WHO (10μg/m3).

High Particulate Matter PM2,5 these days due to the Saharan dust reaching our country
